Hello Lovies, today I'll be sharing the last of our trip with you!
Our last day in London and our couple of days in Dublin :)
Our last day in London it was raining out and I was beginning to get a pretty bad pain in my right knee and hip from all the walking (I used to play softball, do gymnastics, and cheer competitively so I'm sure it has to do something with all of the running and jumping for 15+ years) so we opted to spend the day in the several free museums in Kinsington. Kinsington is the part of London our hotel was in so we just had a short walk to get to the museums!
Our first stop was the National History Museum...
This is Dippy the Dinosaur!
Aaron wanted to look at the Dinosaur Exhibit...
So we did :)
Honestly this was the coolest dino exhibit I've ever seen...
Brontosaurus and Triceratops skulls!
In the mammal exhibit, this guy (the 9-banded armadillo)
was reppin for the South!
Aaron lookin' unusually small compared to a blue whale...
And it totally dwarfed me... ha!
And of course, we found my favorite animal :)
The Zebra!
The outside of the Nat'l History Museum is pretty too!!
Then we headed over to the Victoria & Albert Museum across the street...
Here I'm standing next to columns of an ancient Chinese palace!
Hahaha... and these things...
I don't even know...
Chinese Huns??
Aaron thought they were neat I guess...
We did much more exploring in the museums... and enjoyed our last night in London!
The next day we headed to the airport and....
DUBLIN!
Doesn't that look fun?! :)
It was even colder than London!!
And way different accents, obvi...
Such a unique atmosphere!
Live music everywhere on the streets too!
Oh, and there was a protest while we were there...
They were protesting against....
SEPTIC TANK TAXES... ew.
But, you gotta do what you gotta do... ha!
We ate so much pub food... it's the best!
This is Kennedy's Pub... SO cute!
Aaron's "Baby Guinness"
We laughed because EVERYONE (men and women) at the next table had HUGE pints of Guinness and he had this little glass... hehe... but it was just his first ;)
Guinness Stew... Seriously the BEST!
Aaron and I both had it... and we came back another night for more!
We went to Bewley's for a "Full Irish Breakfast"... YUM!
SO MUCH FOOD!
And Bewley's is GORGEOUS... it's an old school converted into a cafe!
Pretty cappuccinos at breakfast :)
We literally had to SEARCH for this pub...
THE Temple Bar :)
Aaron at The Temple Bar!
Temple Bar Menu... Est. 1840
Love it!
I loved it... So cute!!
Me and my love in The Temple Bar!
So after reading this, I was convinced... I really thought I could like beer here.
I mean, I'm like 1/4 Irish, right??
WRONG.
Me with a beer that I embarrassingly hated.
and only drank less than half of.
FAIL.
My ancestors would be so disappointed.
Although, hubs did not disappoint :)
Look at that technique! hahaha
Dublin was fun! Although we were only there for a short amount of time... and there really wasn't much to do there! Unless you want to shop at a lot of fairly high-end stores... We did a lot of laying around in our hotel room (watching Irish trash TV... which was similar to Jerry Springer and not half bad... haha!) and eating Pub Food... which was very good! :) I'd go back in a heart beat!
Ciao Bellas!
xoxo

That leopard bow is the cutest thing ever.
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute. Still super jealous of your adventures. I hate beer too...why drink that when wine is so amazing?!
ReplyDeleteYour trip looks insane! I am majorly jealous! My brother is heading to London and Ireland next week and I wish I was going, too::)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Those museums look like a blast!
ReplyDeleteI hate beer, too. No matter how hard I try...it's just nasty.
I like the white beanie!
Just found your blog and I love it, especially your love story, I am the hopeless romantic type :) Look forward to reading and following all your adventures. I am a fellow military wife (HS eng lit teacher in my previous life) and we are station in CA, far away from our east coast family and making the best of our new home too!
ReplyDeleteAww I'd love to go to Dublin!!! You're making me hungry with all that food lol
ReplyDeleteLove your trip! I love that they protest about everything over in Europe/the UK! So glad you were able to go to both places. Beer IS super gross. (I think.) I wouldn't have been able to finish half. lol :)
ReplyDeleteDo you fly or take a train? Isn't it great how cheap flights in Europe are?!

The cafe you went to with the irish breakfast?!?!? OMG HOLY YUMMINESS
The temple bar looks SO COOL!!
I'm so glad you and your hubby got to go on a trip together :) :)
Also- is it weird that after reading this post I kind of want to go grab a newcastle (which is the closest thing to guiness we have in the house) out of the fridge and drink it?!?
Thanks a bunch for sharing all of these really neat pictures!
ReplyDeleteTo me the one that stands out the most is the one of the whale. Oh.My.Gosh. It would be so terrifying to come in contact with one of those. So scary!
