Isn't that how the saying goes?
I don't really know... I just know that I didn't post anything yesterday because I was a bit undertheweather after staying up most of the night (I'll spare you the horrid details, but basically I lost an insane amount of blood due to nosebleeds on and off throughout the night, therefore I was basically sick and tired... bleh)
Anyhoodles... As promised, I have some more pictures and adventures to share with you from last weekend's escapades around the island :) I know you're excited...
We started off our Saturday morning DRIVING OUR CAR through some pretty tiny little streets up to Caltigirone (pronounced cal-tuh-juh-row-nay)...
And believe me, the streets got WAY narrower than in this pic...
At one point I asked HOW in the world Aaron thought they built these cities?!
His response, "Not with much thought!!" haha
Touche!
Once we finally made it up to Caltigirone, I was pretty excited to get a treat...
I delicious Arancini (pronounced air-an-chee-nee)
My only defense for this crazy picture... it was hands down the BEST arancini I've had since moving to Sicily.... LOVED IT!
The stairs are Caltigirone's claim to fame...
and they were decorated!
Up close...
The design in the above picture was made entirely of tulips :) awweee!
Not even half way up...
Looking happy at this point... Arancini in hand! haha :)
Approximately half way up...
Looking a little tired...
And obviously frustrated...
My short little legs don't do well with these LARGE.ASS.STAIRS
p.s. my calves are still sore. Thanks, honeybutt.
And thissss is why we climbed to the top...
My MIL better love me....
Because I was exhausteddddd.
I sat in the doorway, ate my arancini, and caught my breath while Aaron looked for MIL's bday present :) hehehe I'm such a good wifey...
Soooo much pottery!
The best in all of Sicilia!
Christmas ornaments :) We bought one for next year's tree!
Christmas trees...
Italian ceramics maker wrapping up our goodies!
The best ceramics shop in Sicily!
And then.... we had to walk all the way back down :(
I may or may not have complained... a lot.
And then... because my husband is the best...
we went to base and I got some extra awesome goodies!
(and some groceries... but who wants to see pictures of those?)
OPI Chip Skip,
OPI Monsooner or Later, WetNWild Sparkles, OPI Got a Date To Knight,
and OPI Drip Dry
I'm in heaven... I know I've told many of you how I have been SEARCHING for sparkles... well Base just happened to have them (even if I found them in the LITTLE GIRLS section... sowhat?) So I was veryyyy happy with my trip... but the goods didn't stop there!
I got new make up & brushes!!
Bare Minerals Powder Foundation, Bronzer, & Blush
Plus 2 brushes...
Full Face Brush, Angled Face Brush,
"A Little Sun" bronzer, "Medium Tan" Foundation, and "Dusk" blush!
Ahhh! You have noooo idea how excited I am!
I have never used Bare Minerals personally but I have used it on others when I was working as a hair&makeup artist on a production set... and I fell in LOVE with it. Well, now I have my very own and once again, I'm LOVING IT! I have used it every day since I bought it and it has not failed to do an amazing job yet! It gives me an amazing matte finish, smooth and even coverage, and I truly feel as though it is healthier for my skin because I can see and feel a difference.
lovelovelove it!
But once again... not done!
I shopped a bit more on Base....
I found this lovely baby...
I just lovedddd the colors!
It's actually a bit lighter, flowier, and more see thru in person :)
And the back... to die for! Sheer lace! Ahhhh!
lovesit!
Oh and looky what I did...
This is OPI Lunch at the Delhi
covered in about 93475629745 layers of WetNWild Sparkles...
I know you can't tell in this picture,
but I might have went a leeeetle bit over board with the sparkles... hehe
Officially obsessed.
Oh and a special thanks goes out to my husband,
lovingly (and newly) nicknamed honeybutt,
for all of his photographer skills this week/weekend,
putting up with all my needs ridiculous wants,
and for dealing with all of the shizz that I put him through on a daily basis :)
I love you, honeybutt/doodoohead/babe.
Thank you!
Ciao Bellas!
xoxo
